Just play. All the time. As much as you can. As George Land highlighted in his NASA study, when we decrease play, our literal overal intelligence decreases as a result.
Essentially, the ability to learn and apply knowledge in problem solving all stems from free, instinctual play. Of course, in order to complete tasks and reach goals we set for ourselves we need to structure our behaviour, but without allowing room for truly unconditional inspiration, discovery, comparison and association during untethered play, we actually stifle our own development. Even irreversibly.
