'Mannetjes' is Dutch for 'little men'.  This entity is exactly that: little (paper) men everywhere, doing all manner of little men things.  Apart from being really fun just to make by hand, the one-of-a-kind resulting objects are sold in shops and galleries.  Commission pieces are also possible.
